Flowers unfortunately live a short life, they wither away and eventually pass on. We don’t say die because flowers never die. They pass on, so that other flowers have the opportunity to share their beauty in your home as well. Imagine looking at the same flowers time and time again, it can get pretty mundane. Hence why fresh flowers are a better choice then those plastic imposters. Sorry, back to the reason you are here the easiest and funnest DIY project ever.
Flowers do wither after awhile, but that does not mean you can’t use them for fun DIY projects to decorate your home or as a quick fun project for your kids.
For this DIY project you will need:
Paper – (The thicker the better)
Acrylic paint
Flowers- (We used the Lone Star Living bouquet flowers because of their quality. Yes, there are flower brands with higher quality selections.)
Washi Tape – (optional)
Step -by-step DIY project guide
Step 1: Gather your materials. Done√
Step 2: Pick the flowers form the bouquet with your favorite shapes and the colors you want to use. Leaves work great as well.
Step 3: Dip the flower into the paint or smear the pain onto the petals of the flowers, both ways work great.
Step 4: Practice! Tip: Flick your wrist when painting, to will give you a better stroke.
Step 5: When you feel your ready, dip the flower into the paint and have fun. Use the flowers as stamps or create strokes like a paint brush.
Optional DIY project:
Create wall art with flower art
Step 6: Create several images with different flowers and colors. Tape the designs on a wall, make sure to measure the distance between each image evenly.
Step 7: Utilizing the washi tape to create frames around the designs. Since our designs are abstract, we created two line trails that frame around all the pictures for a more modern look.
This DIY project really depends on your imagination. You can create wall art, greeting cards, personalized wrapping paper and more, its all up to you. Hopefully, next time you go to HEB or your local supermarket you might see flowers a little bit different. Remember flowers do not die, they just pass on to let other flowers have their moment in the sun. Now it your turn pass on your designs to us on social media. We would love to see what you came up with and give you your moment under the sun.
